Marie Antaya
Performance Consultant, Instructional Designer and Facilitator

Marie is the president of Eclectic Communications and co-founder of Odality. With over 20 years experience as an educator in a variety of subjects, including business communication, she has led numerous program and workshop development projects. Along with her training and workshop development work, Marie has shared her expertise as a learning and development consultant with clients in private, non-profit and public sector organizations throughout Canada. Using her combined experiences, Marie creates informative and practical online and offline workshops tailored to the audience’s needs.

Marie has direct adult education training with her certificates in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Manitoba, Workshop Facilitation from the University of Winnipeg, and Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University. She is certified to deliver presentations, workshops and one-on-one sessions using EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instruments. Also, she is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP).

Kari Hasselriis
Facilitator and Writing Coach

Kari has over 20 years of experience as an educator, facilitator and editor. She delivers workshops on all aspects of business writing for private and public sector organizations, educational institutions, and the federal and provincial governments. Since 2008, Kari has delivered over 1000 business writing workshops for Eclectic Communications with exceptional results. She also teaches courses in the Plain Language Certificate and Editing Certificate programs with Simon Fraser University.

Kari has direct adult education training with her internationally recognized Teaching English as a Foreign Language/Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate. She is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP). Also, she completed the Plain Language Certificate through Simon Fraser University.

Susan Portelance
Facilitator, Instructional Designer and Writing Coach

After many years in the corporate world, Susan has turned her love of language into a career as a writer, editor and trainer. As an editor, Susan works with her clients to craft effective communications – from newsletters and blogs to eBooks and proposals. Susan brings to the classroom over 20 years of training experience and four years of Toastmasters participation where she has honed her public speaking and leadership skills. Susan joined Eclectic in January 2013 and has quickly proven to be an exceptional facilitator.

Susan has completed training in adult education, presentation skills and coaching skills. She is certified to deliver presentations, workshops and one-on-one sessions using the EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence instrument. Susan is also a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP).

Julene Toews Dewis
Facilitator and Instructional Designer

Julene has worked in learning and development for the past 15 years. Before becoming an independent consultant, she held a learning and development leadership position in the credit union system. The majority of Julene’s learning and development experience is in program design and development, using a variety of platforms including classroom training, eLearning and web-based sessions. Julene uses her expertise in needs analysis, program design, facilitation and evaluation to create organization-wide sales and service programs, leadership development initiatives, and other programs as needed.

She has certificates in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) and TESOL. She is a Certified Leadership Coach (CLC) and is certified to deliver presentations, workshops and one-on-one sessions using the DiSC Personality Assessments and Five Behaviours of Cohesive Teams Assessments. She also has her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba. Julene is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP).

Kelly Thibodeau
Facilitator

Kelly is a technical writer turned digital marketer and facilitator. She founded Squarely Social in 2018 after working in the private sector for more than 25 years. She helps people use online marketing to reach and connect with their audiences through social media strategies, workshops and 1:1 coaching.

She has shared her experience as a technical communicator, marketing manager and social media strategist through her many years as an instructor. At the post-secondary level, she has taught for the Writing and Publishing Program with Simon Fraser University, the Technical Communications Certificate Program with Red River College, and the Digital and Social Media Marketing Certificate program with the University of Winnipeg.

Rosalie Harms
Facilitator

Rosalie’s background includes extensive work in workshop development and facilitation, business advising, consultation, and financing with clients in both the private and non-profit sectors. She also teaches business and accounting at the university level. Rosalie combines her energetic style with her experience as a business consultant and educator to assist her in delivering interactive workshops specifically tailored to the audience’s needs and expectations. She holds an undergraduate degree in Administrative Studies and Economics from the University of Winnipeg in addition to an MBA from the I.H. Asper School of Management at the University of Manitoba.

Sławomir Borkowski
Software Developer & Engineer

Having lived in five different countries on three continents, Sławomir knows the value of understanding people. He's of the belief that the only place where IT jargon has a place is in Silicon Valley and R&D labs. A minimalist at heart, Sławomir believes that the most elegant solution is usually the simplest. In his 20 years of professional web development, he has worked with his clients to develop web content that is technologically sustainable but, most importantly, user friendly.

As part of Eclectic’s team, Sławomir contributes his expertise in creating and maintaining our learning management system, Cultivate Learning, and eLearning content.

Tricia Hiebert
Executive Assistant

As an executive administrative assistant and logistics coordinator, Tricia has more than fifteen years of experience — five of those virtually-- providing high-quality administrative support.

Organizing is her superpower, and she has assisted in many shows, festivals, events, and workshops throughout Canada, the US, and most recently, London and Oslo, coordinating everything from conferences to fireworks presentations.

As a behind-the-scenes guru, she oversees the administrative logistics and liaises with teams, ensuring all the details and tasks are carried through while also accommodating the needs of the participants and the clients from start to finish.

Tricia’s experiences have proven a great asset in support, building not only a relationship but a personal interest in people and their success.

Elisa Wiebe
Marketing Technician

Elisa brings a wide range of skills to the table as an independent administrative assistant with expertise in CRM, LMS, and CMS software, web design, copywriting, graphic design, and ethical marketing strategies.

Elisa plays a key role in managing our social media programs and coordinating our marketing activities. Her ability to contribute to multiple aspects of our projects is a tremendous asset, allowing her to create engaging content, design visually appealing graphics, and implement effective marketing strategies.
